- Andy Karl ("Groundhog Day") is replacing Steve Kazee for the Broadway production of "Pretty Woman", which begins performances on July 20th; his wife, Orfeh, plays Kit; Mr. Kazee (a Tony winner for "Once") played the role of Edward in the pre-Broadway run in Chicago; a fire destroyed his family's home in Kentucky, so he is taking time to help his father re-settle
- Paul Schneider ("Parks and Recreation") will join Armie Hammer and Josh Charles in Second Stage's "Straight White Men", the first play by an Asian American female playwright to play on Broadway; performances begin June 29th
- Good news if you (like me) missed it last year, "KPOP" is angling for an Off-Broadway run in 2019
- NBC will telecast a live production of "Hair" in 2019
- Broadway grosses hit a record high in the 2017-2018 season, reaching $1.65B (a whopping 14.4% increase from last season); attendance is flat though, so audiences are just paying more (see: Bruce Springsteen), a troubling trend for audience development on the Great White Way but a boon for producers
