News: Ryan Murphy will adapt critic's pick "The Prom" into a movie musical for Netflix in time for a fall 2020 release (read my review); long rumored, "Tina: The Tina Turner Musical" will play Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre with performances beginning in October (read my review from London); despite rumors of London's acclaimed production of "Company" (read my review) crossing the pond, Patti LuPone suggested at the Olivier Awards that she'll be in the rumored all-female version of "Glengarry Glen Ross" on Broadway next season; Criss Angel books an engagement at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre; and critic's pick "Do You Feel Anger?" extends to April 27th (read my review)
Development: S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders" is being developed as a stage musical; a Maya Angelou bio-play is in the works, aiming for Broadway; the BMG music catalogue will be used to develop three new musicals, including a country musical, a 1980s New Wave project, and a story about Mrs. Claus; and Billy Crystal is working with Jason Robert Brown and Amanda Green on a musical version of the 1992 film "Mr. Saturday Night"
