"The Boys in the Band", the landmark 1968 gay play, will receive its first Broadway production late this spring, produced by Ryan Murphy and David Stone, with Joe Mantello directing, and starring Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannels, Matt Bomer, and Robin deJesús.
Real Estate Update: the Shuberts are petitioning a local landmark committee for approval to refurbish the Cort Theatre (currently home to "M. Butterfly"), adding an annex to house bigger bathrooms, concessions and rehearsal space; if approved and construction commences, that currently leaves only the Nederlander and Hudson Theatres open for new spring tenants with a slew of shows angling for Broadway, including "Roman Holiday", "SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical", "The Honeymooners", and "Hadestown", among others.
