- The superb Off-Broadway revival of "Sweeney Todd" did something last week that almost never happens for a commercial run of a musical Off-Broadway: it recouped its $1.2M capitalization. Tickets are on sale through February 25th.

- "War Paint", the new musical starring Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole, moved up its previously announced closing date from December 30th to November 5th to allow LuPone to have a hip replacement surgery before hopping to her next project.
- Last season's Tony-winning Best Play "Oslo", currently playing at the National Theatre in London, will be adapted for the big screen
- Poet Richard Wilbur, who wrote lyrics for "Candide" and notable adaptations of "Tartuffe", "The Misanthrope" and "The School for Wives", is dead at 96.
